Release of Information
1. Articles, Presentations and Posters
It is important to remember that HDC-funded work is confidential and available to HDC Members only. This does not necessarily mean you may not present the work to others or write articles for non-HDC publications. Certain information, such as detailed results, may need to be withheld depending upon the audience.
- If you wish to write or talk about research funded by the HDC you must contact the appropriate Communications Manager for permission, well in advance of the article deadline or the event (i.e. at least 6 weeks beforehand). We need to see articles and proposed posters and presentation summary in draft form before we can agree the content.
- LINK Projects - permission to talk or write about any LINK project must be obtained in writing from all Consortium Members.
- Please send us copies of any papers, poster exhibits and articles you produce featuring HDC-funded research.
- HDC funding should be appropriately acknowledged in any article or presentation, clearly stating project number(s), and that further information is available to HDC Members from the HDC Office. The HDC logo should be included on slides, and copies are available from the Office.
2. Reports
All requests for copies of reports must be sent to the HDC. Do not supply them directly.
3. Why you should comply with this procedure
Please note the following clauses in the Standard Terms and Conditions of Contract which govern all HDC contracts:
14.1 . the Contractor(s) shall not make any information arising from the project available generally unless:
a) the information has already been furnished to the Board in the form in which it is intended to release it; and
b) the Board has within a period of four weeks from the receipt of the request by the Contractor(s) for permission to make such information available in writing given its permission. If permission is not granted the Board will state the reasons; and
c) all such forms of publication include a statement that the project was supported by the Board funds, and the results of the research are the property of the Board. |
