Review Meetings
1. Introduction
For the majority of HDC projects, progress review meetings will be held periodically during the contracted period.
Review meetings will be convened by the relevant HDC Technical Manager on behalf of the sector panel that commissioned the project.
2. Attendance
Review meetings will be attended by:
- HDC Technical Manager (Chair)
- HDC Communications Manager as and when appropriate
- Project Co-ordinator and other growers as appropriate
- Project Leader
- Other researchers or advisers as appropriate
3. Review Meeting Format
- The Project Leader and/or main researcher will give a short presentation on the results of the project to date.
- Progress in relation to the project objectives and milestones will be discussed.
- The programme for subsequent work will be discussed.
- An information dissemination programme will be discussed according to the schedule accompanying the contract. This will also be an opportunity for the participants to discuss ways of monitoring and evaluating eventual uptake of the results by growers.
- Regulatory (e.g. pesticides) and environmental issues will be considered.
4. Purpose of the Review Meeting
- Share understanding of progress made towards achieving the objectives.
- Discuss and agree the significance of the results to the Industry.
- Share appreciation of any particular difficulties or problems that arose during the year (these should not come as surprises on the day!).
- Explore the need for any change in emphasis within the present project.
- Discuss possible follow-on work.
- Agree, at least in outline, the timing and character of general or specific publications, or events, arising from the work reviewed.
5. Action
As a consequence of the review meeting the Project Leader will be asked to update and revise the work programme in consultation with the HDC Technical Manager and Project Co-ordinator. Once agreed the revised programme will be appended to the Contract Schedule.
