The Protected Ornamentals sector Panel was previously part of Protected Crops, until June 2009 when the edible and non-edible components separated to allow better grouping with other Vegetable and Ornamental sector panels. Therefore the Protected Ornamentals (PO) sector now covers the production of protected pot plants, pack bedding and indoor cut flowers, as well as appropriate plant propagators, whilst salad crops will now be found under the Protected Edibles (PE) sector. The PO and PE sector panels will work closely with each other to ensure complementary sharing of information and research on cross-sector subjects, such as energy use.
